Book your free consultation

What can I expect from my free consultation?

In your free consultation, we will discuss what is going on in your life at the moment and why you would like to begin your therapy/coaching journey. It’s important for you to feel comfortable and at ease so that you can be yourself – it is just a conversation between the two of us. We will discuss how therapy/coaching works, what your needs or goals are, and what would be of greatest help to you.

Will I benefit from therapy / coaching?

This is a very common question for people to have. Many people think there has to be something “wrong” in order to justify seeking a therapist/coach. Sadly, this means that many people deny themselves the opportunity to grow and thrive.

My suggestion is simply to book a free consultation to discuss your goals and what you need at the moment, and then we can take it from there.

If therapy/coaching isn’t for you, or you need something different, then at least you came to find that out. If you need the services of another professional, I would be happy to make referrals or recommendations.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50-55 minutes long.

Longer sessions may be arranged where appropriate.

How frequent are sessions?

Therapy and coaching are most productive when we meet once per week.

More or less frequent sessions might be more appropriate, depending on what you need.

How long does therapy or coaching take?

This depends on your needs, goals, and life circumstances. We decide together what will best suit you.

Both therapy and coaching can be short-term and goal-oriented (typically 10-15 sessions, sometimes fewer), or it can be longer-term and more exploratory, allowing for real deep-seated transformation.

Just like getting fit does not happen overnight, personal growth and change tend to take time. I make sure that we remain flexible to suit your needs and strengths as you grow over time.

How are therapy and coaching different?

Therapy focuses on using evidence-based strategies to treat problems that are causing serious problems for you in your relationships, personal life, and work environment.

These include depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, OCD, and phobias.

Coaching, on the other hand, is about self-development, personal growth, and self-actualisation. It is a positive, strengths-focused approach that is typically more action-oriented and goal-driven.

We can discuss these differences in greater depth in one of our sessions, because it can become complicated!

What will we talk about?

We talk about whatever is going to help you get from where you are, to where you want to be.

I take a practical approach and help you deal with the challenges you are currently facing.

Do you offer in-person therapy and coaching?

Sadly, no.

At the moment I am only offering online therapy and coaching sessions.

Do you see children or adolescents?

I work with older adolescents (aged 18+), but I do not work with children or younger adolescents.

What does it cost?

Fees change from time to time, and depend on the service that you require.

Please contact me directly for the latest fees, or book a free consultation and we can discuss the options there.

Will my medical insurance cover therapy or coaching?

The top-tier medical aid plans usually cover some therapy sessions.

Coaching is not a medical or mental healthcare service, and is therefore not covered by medical insurance.

Do you offer psychometric assessments or reports?

No, at this point I am not offering psychometric assessments and I do not write reports.
